Camp Fire in the Yakima, Washington area began in 1913 with two groups; one in the Town of Toppenish and one in lower Naches. The Council was chartered in 1924 and today serves Yakima and Kittitas Counties.

Camp Fire USA clubs are lead by adult volunteers, most often parents. Working with the youth, leaders plan activities based on the interest of each club. Some clubs enjoy outdoor activities. Other clubs spend more time on arts and crafts and still others like doing field trips. Camp Fire USA offers program curriculum, trains leaders and shares program suggestions.
